The sudden and tragic death of actor Paul Walker has left fans around the world shocked and heartbroken. The deepest of sympathies are extended to the Walker family and those who knew him. New reports suggest that the car in which Walker was a passenger may have malfunctioned. It is possible that a steering fluid leak caused the violent crash that killed Walker and the man driving the Porsche, Roger Rodas. Walker and Rodas were killed on Nov. 30 when their car crashed into a pole and then exploded.
According to a source speaking to TMZ "they saw evidence of a fluid burst and subsequent fluid trail before the skid marks at the accident scene." Police released a statement about the accident saying, "When they arrived deputies found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, extinguishing the fire and subsequently located two victims inside the vehicle. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene." Walker and Rodas co-owned the auto shop that worked on the car called Always Evolving.
According to reports mechanics from the shop that had worked on the car said that the evidence at the scene of the crash suggests a mechanical failure was the cause of the crash. The shop says the car left skid marks going in a straight line and not a swerve pattern. The shop says this suggests the driver did not have control over the steering wheel at the time the car crashed. The shop also believes that a steering fluid leak was the cause since the fire took place at the front of the car and not the back where the engine is found.
Paul Walker was 40-years old and most famous for his role in the "Fast and Furious" film franchise. The late actor leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter. Fans have taken to Twitter and Facebook to express their heartbreak and condolences over Walker's death. "Fast and Furious" costar Vin Diesel tweeted "Brother, I will miss you very much. Heaven has gained a new angel. Rest in Peace." Other "Fast and Furious" actors expressed their sadness over their friend's death. Actor Tyrese Gibson visited the sight of the crash leaving flowers and shedding tears with fans.
