Support continues to come around the globe for the families and friends of Paul Walker and Roger Rodas, two friends and business partners who tragically perished in an auto accident Saturday afternoon in California. Visiting memorial sites along with expressing their condolences via social media outlets, fans of the actor Walker and many who knew Rodas are now awaiting official details of an autopsy. Due to the fact that both bodies were unidentifiable after suffering devastating burns, medical personnel was forced to delay the examination and it is now being said that dental records will be needed to officially identify both bodies.
Though Paul Walker - star of the popular 'Fast and Furious' movies -- and Rodas did not make it out of the crash, Rodas' 8-year-old son did all he could to try and rescue the pair just seconds after the car burst into flames. Rodas -- who was hosting a charity event to raise money for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan at his auto shop in California - was a good friend and business partner of Walker and with the accident taking place just minutes from his Valencia shop, many who heard the crash and explosion ran over to the scene in an attempt to help.
"I ran over afterwards, I was trying to find Roger's son," eyewitness Jim Torp said. "I found out his son had jumped the fence and gone over, he was trying to get his dad out. Paul Walker's best friend was trying to get Paul out of the car while it was still on fire. He was trying to save his friend. There was nothing he could do. The saddest part for me, is when Rogers' wife came there not knowing what had happened and that little boy told his mom and was crying. A lot of fans that were down at the fundraiser were crying." Multiple attempts to put out to blaze were made but because of the magnitude of the accident, there was little anyone could do once the car crashed and the flames began to rise.
"We all heard from our location," Antonio Holmes, a friend of Paul Walker said. "It's a little difficult to know what it was. Someone called it in and said it was a vehicle fire. We all ran around and jumped in cars and grabbed fire extinguishers and immediately went to the vehicle. It was engulfed in flames. There was nothing. They were trapped. Employees, friends of the shop. We tried. We tried. We went through fire extinguishers." Jim Torp also added that while the accident was truly a tragedy, Walker died with a close friend doing something he loved. "He lived his life and he died fast and furious," he said. "He loved speed, he loved cars, and he had to die this way. He died in a very fast car with his friend."
