Paul Walker's death affected many fans around the world yet perhaps nowhere more so than in Mexico. According Zeitgeist, Google's annual report of the most searched items on the search engine, Paul Walker was the most searched term on Google Mexico in 2013. The report is compiled from over a billion searches and paints a picture of the top trending search terms. Other celebrity deaths including Karla Alvarez and Glee's Cory Monteith were also in Mexico's Top 10.
Paul Walker may have been Mexcio's most popular search term, however, the list of most searched for news items was topped by the meteor that fell in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk in February this year. The arrest of Elba Esther Gordillo, the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Nelson Mandela's Nobel Peace Prize were all also high on the list. The Harlem Shake was also one of Mexico's most popular search terms as were films "Gravity" and "Despicable Me 2.
Paul Walker was killed on November 30th when the Porsche GT that he was riding in crashed into a lamp post. His friend and financial advisor Roger Rodas was driving. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Walker's ashes were interred at a private service on Sunday.
