Pastor Convicted For Sexually Assaulting 17-Year-Old Boy In Kenya

A 70-year-old pastor from Kenya has been found guilty of sodomizing a minor between October 2020 and January 16, 2021.

The pastor was identified as John Muchine of the Christian Worship International Ministries who allegedly took advantage of the 17-year-old who had an unsound mind.

The incidents reportedly happened at the boy’s home in Sinambio village Mpeketoni sub-county within Lamu county, Kenya. After having his way, he would reportedly pay the teenager with a Ksh20 coin and threaten him that he would kill him if he told anyone about it what had happened.

The acts allegedly happened inside the house and in the bushes. At those times, the pastor allegedly told the boy to remove his clothes and lie down on his stomach. The 70-year-old would also apply anointing oil on the buttocks of the boy and then penetrate him.

The case of the pastor got even worse when his sodomizing acts were allegedly witnessed by the victim’s 10-year-old brother. He admitted witnessing the fetish act but was warned by his brother not to tell anyone.

Mpeketoni Resident Magistrate Pascal Nabwana who ruled on the case also added that the victim's claim corroborated with the 10-year-old’s statements.

“The minor in his testimony alleged that the accused defiled him severally since April 2020 culminating with the last incidence on January 6, 2021. In one of the incidents, the younger brother witnessed the ordeal which happened inside the pastors’ house,” Nabwana said.

The pastor was also slapped with an additional count of committing an indecent act with a child contrary to section1 (1) of the sexual offenses act no 3 of 2006.

“One would expect that a minister, properly professing the Christian faith would give testimony under oath, just to underline how serious his defense is but this did not happen," Nabwana added.
