A 2-year-old girl was found wandering around a Miami Beach hotel in a wet swimsuit top and diaper while her parents were out clubbing, according to a report.

The girl's parents, Daryl Lentz and Ciera Hurd, told NBC6 they were in town from Baltimore to celebrate several birthdays. Before they went out for the night, the couple said they left their daughter in the care of her siblings, ages five, 11, and 12.

"It was a small, tragic mistake that I'm really hurt about and I don't know what to do," Lentz said. "We've been doing a lot of crying, a lot of crying, every time we see pictures we cry."

While her siblings slept in the family's hotel room, the toddler left the room to look for her parents. A security guard "across from the building" called police when he heard the girl screaming, "'Mama, papa'" at 3 a.m. Police arrived soon after to find the crying toddler.

All four children were taken to the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Although both parents are allowed to visit their kids while they're in DCF's custody, they said they're desperate to get them back.

"We are really good parents, we are good people, we don't leave our children, this is not a regular thing for us," Hurd said.

Lentz and Hurd were arrested and charged with child neglect. The couple will return to court next month.
