Crazy things happen at sporting events, particularly in the stands. With Major League Baseball now underway, fans are now able to get some sports entertainment. But along with that comes skirmishes such as this one that happened during the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies game that took place at the Coors Field in Colorado.

It appears a spat broke out between fans of the two teams and things just got physical. In captured footage, a man believed to be a fan of the Padres confronted another one (presumably a fan of the Rockies) at some point in the game. It was not clear what instigated the confrontation but the former was pretty hot under the collar.

The Padres fan could be seen in the video below charging at another fan, hitting him with a vicious right punch and putting him to sleep. As he was backing up, the attacker got mauled by other fans in the stands, some likely friends of the Rockies fan.

As of this writing, no formal charges have been filed against the man who threw that strong punch. In the video, someone could be heard saying “he’s out.”

“The person who threw the first punch was contacted by police,” a spokesperson from the Denver Police Department stated. “However, the person struck did not want to press charges.”

Considering he got the raw end of it, some are wondering why the Rockies fan did not want to press charges. There could be something more to the situation that escalated the situation. For now, it would be best to wait on the results of any investigation or statements tied to the matter.

Both teams split the double-header that took place on Wednesday. San Diego won the first 5-3 but Colorado came back to triumph in the second 3-2.
