The nominations for the 88th Academy Awards have been announced and we couldn’t be more excited for Hollywood’s most anticipated prizes to be handed out. “Crimson Peak” director Guillermo del Toro and “Life of Pi” director Ang Lee announced the first 12 nomination categories, followed by “13 Hours” star John Krasinski and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President, Cheryl Boone Isaacs who announced the other 12 categories, making this only the second time all 24 categories were announced live. The most nominated titles included González Iñárritu’s “The Revenant” with a staggering 11 and George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” with 10, followed by “The Martian” with 7, and “Carol,” “Bridge of Spies” and “Spotlight” with 6.

It was extremely surprising to see Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" was snubbed, especially in the Original Screenplay category, and we were also expecting to see Pablo Larraín's "The Club" nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, but representing Latinos in the category is Ciro Guerra's “Embrace of the Serpent” from Colombia.

The ceremony will take place on February 28, hosted by everyone’s favorite, Chris Rock, so as Cheryl Boone Isaacs said, “See you at the Oscars!” but before that, check out the full list of nominees below.
