British creative director Peter Copping explored Oscar de la Renta's passion on his sophomore collection for the brand on Tuesday night. The stunning textiles and the standout dresses were inspired by the roots and origins of the iconic designer who died in October 2014.
"Hispanic culture was obviously something that was very close to Oscar's heart, and I just really wanted to think about things that Oscar was passionate about," Copping said to the Associated Press.
Copping was chosen as the successor to continue representing the legendary De La Renta dynasty, his collection included floral patterns, classic skirts, cropped tops, belted suits and the traditional Spanish espadrille, "I thought that would give the whole collection a different twist, just to have the espadrille, which is the Spanish shoe," Copping added," just thought it would be younger and fresher."
