Orlando Brown, who rose to fame following his acting role in the popular Disney Channel show “That’s So Raven,” took Twitter by storm when he posted a shocking video of himself coming out of the closet and exposing TV personality Nick Cannon as his gay lover. Quick as a wink, both Brown and Cannon found themselves trending on social media and becoming the talk of the town. But who really is Orlando Brown and is he really gay?
Here are five facts about the former Disney star you need to know:
1. “That’s So Raven” was his biggest break
Although Brown appeared in several projects like “Family Matters,” “Major Payne,” “Two of a Kind,” “Waynehead,” and “Eddie’s Million Dollar Cook-Off,” he was most notable for his role as Eddie Thomas in Disney’s highly popular sitcom “That’s So Raven.”
2. He’s also into music
Brown is not only a talented actor but a singer and songwriter as well. Previously, he made songs with popular artists like Akon, Sean Kingston, T-Pain, Pimp C, Raven-Symone, Rayven Justice, and TravStar. He also successfully released his own studio album titled “Trade It All” and performed part of the “That’s So Raven” theme song.
3. He’s been suffering from cocaine and meth addiction
Over the years, Brown’s addiction has taken its toll on his mental health. In a controversial video that surfaced in 2018, the actor was shown walking around barefoot with a box of wine in his hands while a man was following him with his camera. That time, he had just gone out of rehab but his stint lasted for only a week. That same year, he appeared on an episode of “Dr. Phil” and outrageously claimed that he was the son of the late Michael Jackson.
4. He had several run-ins with the police
In 2016, Brown was arrested and charged with domestic battery, obstruction of justice, drug possession with the intent to sell, and possession of contraband following a public altercation with his then-girlfriend. In several other occasions, he was also charged with resisting arrest after being caught using meth.
5. He claims to be gay
On Wednesday, Brown posted a video making explosive claims against Nick Cannon, whom he referred to as his gay lover. He even gave graphic details about their relationship, saying “OK look fine, do you want me to tell everybody? OK fine. Nick, I let you suck me d**k and I liked it.” Cannon immediately denied and downplayed his claims as mere proof of Brown’s mental issues. Considering how they both grew up in Hollywood as child actors, however, it’s conceivable that at some point, they hooked up.
