‘The Originals’ Spoilers: Marcel And Davina Relationship To Be Revealed In Episode 5 ‘Sinners And Saints’

Marcel has a secret weapon and it’s not just his vampy abilities, his real weapon is Davina. On last week’s episode, “Girl in New Orleans” the teenage witch went toe-to-toe with the immortal Klaus. Davina displayed not only her potent powers of elemental and mind control, pain infliction, spell casting, sensory, and telekinesis but her emotional young state. Davina was plucked from her daily life at the tender age of 10 years old and hide away in an attic to be used as the sensor for controlling all witchcraft in the French Quarter. But as Klaus attempts to use Davina for his own good, he realizes that she is loyal to his former protégé.

Tonight on “The Originals” the audience will finally discover just exactly why Davina and Marcel are so close, the origin of the relationship will be revealed. Danielle Campbell, who plays the young powerful witch, revealed that in “the fifth episode, you get back-stories as to why Davina is there and what happened that made Marcel and her meet, and it’s kind of what makes her personality the way it is.” Davina finds an unexpected ally in Elijah. The Original vampire has spent the first episodes of Season 1 staked in the attic with the young witch, but in episode 5 “Sinners and Saints” Davina tells Elijah the story of her past. Davina will reveal to both Elijah and the audience, how she winded up in the church attic under Marcel’s protection. “There’s a reason why she trusts only certain people, and there’s a reason why she hates others,” Danielle said.

The relationship between Marcel and Davina, will seem familiar to the audience because it will mirror Klaus and Marcel’s story. But while Marcel is running his Kingdom of New Orleans, Davina’s mission is a little more sinister than that. The mysterious and incredibly emotional witch, may be powerful but she is still very fearful of the immortal “Originals.” In episode 2, “House of the Rising Son” when Marcel suggested they return Elijah to Klaus at Rebekah’s request, Davina made her feelings clear. She refuses to un-stake the powerful vampire until she learns how to kill them, but as immortals, she certainly has her work cut out for her. Danielle said, that her character’s mission this season, will revolve around discovering a way to kill the Morgenstern family. “It’s something that Marcel asked her to do,” Danielle said. “And it’s something that she’s been putting a lot of effort into.”
