“The Originals” is back and who doesn’t love a good love triangle?! There is already a ton of romantic and sexual tension in this show, now let’s throw in some more! While I am so for Rebekah and Marcel reuniting and finally living happily ever after together, apparently Klaus and the universe are working in together to never let that happen. So let’s discuss the latest love triangle popping up on “The Originals,” Marcel-Cami-Klaus. Isn’t odd to anyone else that Klaus keeps finding himself involved in love triangles, when he claims to love non one? Despite, Klaus’s cold hearted nature he is certainly warming up to the local bartender Cami. But apparently Marcel has a thing for feisty, blondes because he also has eyes for Cami.
In a new sneak peek video of episode 9, “Reigning Pain In New Orleans” Klaus, Marcel, and Cami find themselves in a particularly awkward situation. The sneak peek video shows Klaus walking through his reclaimed Mikaelson mansion, dictating to Cami. Cami, who looks notably annoyed, is dutifully typing away on the ancient typewriter, until Klaus reveals that he in bite his brother Elijah and “left him in the Bayou with my hybrid venom in his veins.” Cami is understandably shook up by the vengeful and begins to question just why she is the one responsible for the Klaus’s written history. Cami reminds him that by being the King, her services are no longer necessary, however the egotistical manic disagrees, reminding Cami that she is creating a record of 1,000 of history, more specifically his life. After this back and forth, Cami relents, just as Marcel enters to speak with Klaus. The former King of New Orleans is incredibly confused by her presence and knowledge of their existence and vampire origin, she then reveals to Marcel that Klaus has compelled her to forget everything once she leaves. While the implications of Cami knowing about the supernatural are obviously serious, Marcel looks hurt personally.
He quickly jumps to his personal relationship with Cami, asking Klaus if he compelled her to go out with him. While he reveals that this is, in fact, he also admits that their feelings for one another are real. So depite his feelings for Rebekah, Marcel still cares about Cami, but so does Klaus and we are seriously doubting he is going to let her go. Reminding both Marcel and Cami who is in charge, Klaus remarks coyly, "And for the record, the level of awkwardness we're all currently experiencing is entirely genuine." Oh Klaus, you cheeky devil. What do you guys think will happen between Cami, Klaus and Marcel? If Cami and Klaus get together, will he allow Rebekah and Marcel to finally be happy? Probably not, but hey, I’m a hopeless romantic.
