The explosive fight between Kaido and Big Mom is expected to reach its conclusion in “One Piece” Chapter 953. The good news is that the expected hiatus won’t happen, and the next installment of Eiichiro Oda’s hit series will arrive as scheduled.
What’s interesting is that the manga’s plot seems to be building up for one epic battle between Luffy and his allies, as well as Kaido and his men. For instance, Zoro and Gyukimaru, who were supposed to be fighting over the sword Shusui, were stopped just in time by Kawamatsu.
Keen-eyed Kawamatsu immediately noticed that the two combatants were not really intent on killing each other, so he suggested that it’s pointless to continue fighting. While it was not seen what happened afterward, there’s a good chance that the Zoro and Gyukimaru might work out a deal with the help of Kawamatsu and eventually agree on Zoro using the famous sword. This would also mean that Luffy’s allies just gained one more fighter in the person of Gyukimaru.
The same pattern can also be seen when Luffy met the four Yakuza bosses. Of course the bosses were put off when Luffy casually called Hyogoro as “Gramps.” Hyogoro had to tell them that Luffy saved his life to stop them from hurting the Straw Hats captain.
While Luffy and the Yakuza bosses parted ways with some cursing, it is clear to see that there’s really no bad blood between them. This means that when the great showdown between Luffy and Kaido happens, the four will definitely side with Luffy.
Unfortunately, Latin Times’ previous predictions about Kaido and Linlin’s fight were a little off. The fight didn’t actually finish in “One Piece” Chapter 952, which means that the question as to who is stronger between the two Yonkos remains unanswered.
In addition, there was no flashback showing just what happened between them in the past, which might explain why the two are angry with each other. However, it’s still possible that a brief backstory might still be inserted somewhere in the upcoming “One Piece” Chapter 953 or later chapters.
Fans are likewise divided as to what the outcome of the fight between Big Mom and Kaido might be. There are those who believe that one Yonko will finally be defeated, finally establishing who is the stronger one.
However, a more exciting possibility is that Kaido and Linlin might come to an agreement to temporarily join forces to fight against Luffy and the increasingly powerful forces friendly to him. If this is the case, does the Straw Hats captain have what it takes to fight both Yonkos at the same time?
