Omar Germenos was fired from Telemundo's "Un Nuevo Día" earlier this month and no reason has surfaced as to why the Spanish network made that decision. The network announced today that Ana Maria Canseco will fill in the void left by the Mexican presenter. Don't feel bad for Germenos though, as new rumors point to him going back to his home country and starring in a telenovela.
According to radio talk show "Todo Para La Mujer," Omar has been invited by the producer Elisa Salinas to have a role in her upcoming soap. The actor has been in numerous telenovelas on the Azteca network like "La Duda" and "Montecristo." His last appearance in a telenovela was with Telemundo in 2010 on ¿Dónde Está Elisa? where he played José ángel Rincón.
Omar has not addressed any of these issues but has posted pictures on his Twitter account on his whereabouts. He recently returned from spending some time with his family by the beach in an undisclosed area. Germenos has recently talked to LatinTimes about staying put in Miami for at least the next five years, a move to Mexico with his family was not in his plans.
"I feel fine and comfortable in Miami for at least the next, at least, five years. Normally, in this industry, the whole family travels when they give you work. We don't want to do that as we have the mindset to stay in one place for many years. So, we were testing Miami for the past three years and we've decided we would like to stay for at least five more years."
