With each of the other three Divisional Series in the books, the American League Division Series between the Oakland A's and Detroit Tigers is set up for a fantastic finish. Thanks to an 8-6 win in Game 4, the Tigers earned themselves a return trip to Oakland for a decisive Game 5. The A's evened the series with a Game 2 win at home after dropping the opener and as they look to close out the same Tigers team that defeated them in the opening round of the 2012 postseason, the A's will send reliable up-and-comer Sonny Gray to the mound with the hopes that the 23-year-old can recapture the magic he had in a brilliant Game 2 performance.

"He's a little bit of a bulldog, he's scared of nothing," A's manager Bob Melvin said of Gray, who went 8 innings while allowing just 4 hits and no runs to the Tigers offense the last time out. "Everything that went on in that game factored into it. When he came up, we were into the season and a pennant race already and we threw him right into the fire and right away he pitched very well with a lot of confidence and always has that mound presence."

While Oakland certainly has every reason to be confident in their right-handed stud, the Athletics know the task of advancing will not be easy, especially since 2011 American League Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander will be the opposing pitcher.

Preparing for the Game 2 rematch, A's outfielder Coco Crisp knows a complete effort from each batter in the line-up is needed. Smart pitch selection and cashing in on opportunity will be key for Oakland if they're to advance to the clubs first American League Championship Series since 2006.

"The hardest thing to do in sports is hit a baseball," Crisp said. "Verlander is a tough pitcher; their whole pitching staff is a great staff. He is who he is. We've got to go out and beat him. We're a one-through-nine lineup. We need everybody to chip in in a collective effort. If we swing at our pitches, I think we'll have a good chance to beat them."

With the winner set to face the Boston Red Sox in the 2013 American League Championship Series, Game 5 between the A's and Tigers should be one of the best games of the entire MLB season.
