The 24 Hours of Le Mans may be the most prestigious endurance race, but what the Nurburgring 24 Hours lacks in glamour, it makes up for in grit. The 14-mile track features a variety of road surfaces, blind corners, treacherous peaks, and unpredictable weather conditions from one end of the circuit to the other. The 24 Hours of Nurburgring allows no margin for error and demands the highest level of concentration from racing drivers.

Teams to watch at the 2014 Nurburgring 24 include the defending champion Black Falcon Race team with the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 the Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS Ultra, and the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 RSR. All three teams are based in Germany and call Nurburgring their home. In particular, Manthey Racing just raced at Le Mans last week, where it came third in the highly competitve GTE Pro class. Ultimately, the No. 69 Dorr Motorsport McLaren took Nurburgring 24 pole position with a record shattering lap of just 8:10.921s.
