A North Carolina man went missing after he jumped into a freezing river to evade police.
Raymond Scott, 33, was pulled over by Camden County deputies around midnight on Wednesday. After telling them his brother's name, Jesse, the man jumped into a river and began swimming toward a marsh, according to the Camden County Sheriff's Office.
Law enforcement's objective soon turned from capturing Scott to ensure he had safely reached a shore as temperatures dropped over night.
The Scott family has been notified, according to deputies.
As of Thursday morning, rescue personnel continued searching for Scott along the Camden Causeway.
