A North Carolina man took to Facebook to announce that he had just killed his wife after discovering her infidelity, further stating that he planned to kill himself as well in a now-deleted post.

63-year-old George Lesniak allegedly shot his wife, 59-year-old Cathleen Lesniak, to death on Saturday evening, reported the Fuquay-Varina Police Department. The incident occurred in the couple's home in the Fuquay-Varina, about 18 miles away from the city of Raleigh.

Both victims were found by law enforcement having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. George's cause of death was reportedly a "self-inflicted fatal injury," reported The NC Beat.

Prior to his death, George allegedly took to Facebook, stating that he killed his wife due to her having allegedly cheated on him.

"My wife admitted to cheating on me so I killed, I'm about to kill myself," George wrote to the ADAS Support group.

The group, which was created for technicians performing ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations on vehicles, is now private. George had been an administrator of the group prior to his death.

Police stated that they would be conducting an in-depth investigation due to the "complex nature" of the incident.

"This incident is deeply tragic, and we urge the community to keep the family in their thoughts during this challenging time," officials stated.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occured at the Lesniak residence on January 18. We at Autel express our heartfelt condolences to the Lesniak family and friends," stated Autel Automotive, the company George had worked at for almost six years before leaving in September of 2024, on Facebook.
