NBC’s upcoming series “The Blacklist” premieres tonight and fans are eagerly awaiting the pilot episode. “The Blacklist” stars James Spader, Megan Boone and Harry Lennix. Spader plays the protagonist that has been seen in the haunting promo images, he is a mysterious seated man wearing a trench and an all knowing grin. Spader’s character is Raymond "Red" Reddington, and if the smirk wasn’t a tell tale sign, he is one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives.

And while it seems like the show may be a struggle between the fugitive and law enforcement, “The Blacklist” is so much more than that. In a surprise move, Reddington surrenders at FBI Headquarters in Washington DC, stating that he, like the FBI wants to detain dangerous criminals and terrorists. While his true motive is still unknown, Reddington agrees to cooperate with FBI but under one condition, he will only communicate with a seemingly unknown rookie FBI profiler, named Elizabeth Keen. Keen, is played by Boone, and she is very weary of Reddington’s sudden interest in her.

Reddington proves a vital asset to the FBI; he tells Keen that he has made a list over the last two decades of criminals and terrorists that have continually eluded the FBI. Reddington calls it "The Blacklist" stating that these fugitives are truly the most dangerous.

The series will be a thrilling ride, with the audience question Reddington each step of the way. What are Reddington’s true intentions? Why has he chosen Liz, a woman with whom he seemingly has no connection? Tune in tonight to find out at 10 pm on NBC!
