The court battle between Ninel Conde and ex-husband Juan Zepeda has turned into quite the telenovela story. On February 3, 2015, about 30 cops surrounded Zepeda and without giving him any details, arrested him and took him to jail. He later found out that he was being accused of copyright infractions, fraud, and theft; these charges were made by his then wife, Conde.
After many attempts to take the singer to court, she was finally deprived of the possibility to use alternate representation and she was forced to face Zepeda on April 6, 2015. On the day of the trial, she was escorted by her now partner, Giovanni Medina, who allegedly threatened Zepeda’s lawyers during the hearing and was asked to leave the room. At the time, Conde stated that she was willing to negotiate with her ex-husband, who reportedly owes her about 470,000 USD.
During an interview with “Ventaneando,” Medina revealed that a negotiation is in the works, “Very close to a negotiation, I think that we’ll agree to something very soon and the mister can get his stuff together and move on with his life.”
When he was asked about the terms that were being discussed in order for both parts to reach an agreement, he replied: “To compensate for the damage and it all will be over.”
Medina finalized the interview by mentioning it is very doubtful Zepeda could expose upsetting details about the Mexican bombshell in the book he is allegedly writing from his cell.
