Nina Dobrev is topless! But the “Vampire Diaries” star is not stripping down for her role of Elena on “Vampire Diaries” but instead for Obamacare. Ugh what a bore, celebrities getting political is so 2008. The sexy star posted a topless photo of herself to her Instagram account, but like the modest vampire she is, Nina is holding a cardboard sign in front of her chest. The sign reads, #getCovered and I don’t know which is worse; a political message or a hashtagged political message.
"I’m Canadian. We have healthcare for all," the 24-year-old TV star explained in the caption. "If you don’t have insurance go and #GetCovered, because w/o it, you’re naked." And while we appreciate her attempt to spread a positive message, I feel like Nina herself needs some medical attention. She looks emaciated and downright ghostly in the image. Her bicep cannot be more than 3 inches wide, so instead of hashtagging I think Nina should worry about her own health.
Nina is certainly not the first Hollywood celebrity to endorse the Affordable Care Act, joining in on the homemade sign fun are Emily VanCamp, Rosario Dawson, Kate Bosworth, Pharrell Williams, and Kerry Washington, who also showed off their support and crafting prowess. Nina has aligned the delivery of her political statement alongside the Season 5 premiere of the wildly popular “Vampire Diaries” series. On the show, her character is an average teen turned vampire, the Season 5 premiere also showcased Nina’s shrinking frame with a steamy bathtub scene starring herself and co-star Ian Somerhalder. While Somerhalder and Nina are still playing on-screen lovers, their off-screen relationship has fizzled. The Obamacare supporter has recently been linked to “Dancing with the Stars” competitor Derek Hough.
