With the theme "Textile History: My Story as a Designer," Carlos De Moya will present an exclusive collection for the NYFW that was inspired by the sunsets of his homeland, Mao, Dominican Republic.
From February 6 to 8, de Moya - who was chosen by Epson to show his designs- will showcase an elaborated collection with advanced solutions of sublimation, a technique that consists in the transfer of an image printed in paper to the textile using heat. This visual representation shows the impact of digital printing technologies in the textile and fashion industry.
This is the third year in which Epson successfully organizes this international event in the fashion capital, New York; and 2017 translates into the first opportunity that Dominican talent leave their mark.
"For us it is a pride to have the participation of a designer like Carlos De Moya, since it's not the first time that he works with the technique of sublimation and that has made him able to explore how his creativity is manifested with a unique style," said Abelicio Quintero, Epson Sales Manager for Miami and the Caribbean.
"The dream of every Latin American designer is to reach the NYFW, I think it is a great step in my career," confessed De Moya, who is about to celebrate 10 years of presenting his credentials as a professional fashion designer.
