Last year, on October 20, we said farewell to the most elegant gentleman in fashion: Oscar de la Renta. The famous Dominican-born designer, died in his home at the age of 82, after a long battle with cancer. The news of de la Renta's passing came a week after he had appointed Peter Copping as the new Creative Director of the brand. Now it’s time to see Copping’s highly anticipated first collection for ODLR, grace the New York Fashion Week runway.
Many celebrities were considered Oscar’s muses, as they constantly wore his glamorous designs, as well as cherished him as a dear friend. As previously mentioned, expectations are very high for the brand’s Fall/Winter collection, not only because it’s the first since de la Renta’s departure, but because it will follow the designer’s last presentation which was utterly stunning. Copping no doubt has enormous shoes to fill and we wish him the best of luck. We can’t wait to see him honor Oscar’s elegance in his designs!
