New York Comic Con 2013 has arrived in NYC! The convention is set to have its biggest year to date with 130,000 people expected to attend. NYCC 2013 celebrates all things comics, fans show up decked out in elaborate costumes and stars from some of the biggest movies and TV show make appearances. Some of the hot events lined up include "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "The Walking Dead" panels. Marvel's Head of Television is the only speaker set for the 'S.H.I.E. L.D." panel, which is leading some to speculate that the surprise scheduled could be a full episode. And "Waking Dead" fans are extremely excited to hear from the AMC stars Andrew Lincoln, Chad Coleman, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus.

1. GET A PLAN. This is a HUGE event and it will be difficult to get to everything and see everything. Download the official NYCC mobile app on your phone. Open it up before you get the Javits Convention Center to get the latest updates. Wi-Fi in the Center may not be reliable. Attends can also use the New York Comic Con website to create a "My Show Planner." From there you can check out all the exhibitors, panels and autograph sessions and mark down what you want to see. Make sure to pick an alternate plan in case you get closed out or have to wait in a long line.
2. YOU NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING. Cash is needed! ATMs are available but oftentimes have long lines. The New York Comic Con website suggests that you bring a refillable water bottle, camera, several comic book bags for purchases, charges for your phone and camera and a "Swag Bag" -- or in other words someone to hold onto all the free stuff you get a the show! 3. GET THE MAP. NYCC 2013 has an interactive map you can keep on your phone or you can print out a version to bring with you to the show. 4. THERE ARE FREE SHUTTLES. New York Comic Con is offering free shuttles for those traveling to the Javits Center from Penn Station, Grand Central and hotels registered with NYCC. Check out the schedule HERE.
5. MAKE YOUR COSTUME REAL. But not too real! Comic Con is known for having elaborated and totally awesome costumes, but be careful not to have too realistic prop weapons. They may be taken away. You can have a prop weapon mad e of cardboard, foam, wood or another light material. Prop firearms should also have brightly-covered caps. No sharp arrows, either. Also, like I said before, the show is BIG. So, wear comfortable shoes! 6. DON'T FORGET YOUR BADGE. This year NYCC 2013 has a "Tap-In Tap-Out" enter and exit policy. So, you'll need your NYCC-ID badge going in and going out. The system is in place to curb counterfeit badge problems.
7. COME LATE. To avoid waiting in line in the morning, come to the show an hour after the show when it officially opens. You'll walk right in with no wait. 8. SHOW UP ON TIME. However, make sure you show up on time for the panels and screenings. 9. LEAVE YOUR SUITCASE AT HOME. I know, I know you want to bring something to cart around all the great Comic Con stuff you're going to pick up a the show but be advised, the show doesn't allow handcarts, trolleys, oversized strollers, rolling luggage or wheeled backpacks. 10. MAKE FRIENDS. Comic Con is meant to be fun!
