A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away, Disney caught the movie world by surprise, bought LucasFilms and announced a new "Star Wars" installment in the making.
Fans are still trying to meddle over the news that their beloved movie saga might be butchered a fourth time, and this time there is no talking of Natalie Portman being there to save the day. But in an unexpected turn of events, George Lucas himself revealed Friday that the three main stars of the original three films have agreed to participate in the new, still untitled, movie, set to be released in 2015.
That is right -- Luke and Leia Skywalker, along with Han Solo will be sporting the same faces, albeit a little more aged. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher -- who had hinted about her role on Tuesday -- and Mark Hamill will be reprising their career-making roles once more.
"We had already signed Mark, Carrie and Harrison [when LucasFilms was bought by Disney]. I called them up and said, 'Look, this is what's going on,'" Lucas told Bloomberg Businessweek.
A second later, Lucas realized he might have spilled. "Maybe I'm not supposed to say that. They want to announce it with some big whoop-de-do. I won't say if the negotiations were successful or not."
J.J. Abrams, of "Lost" fame, is set to direct.
