New Mexico Man Who Kicked Dad to Death During Heated Argument Was Caught Cleaning Blood Off His Feet With Hose

A New Mexico man caught washing his father's blood off his feet with a hose now faces up to 18 years in prison.

When Albuquerque police arrived at the home Clayton Garcia shared with his father, they found the father mortally injured and Garcia hosing his father's blood off his feet. Garcia pled guilty to the September 2023 killing, KOB-4 reported.

Garcia, who was 29 at the time of the assault, told police he and his father, Jorge Garcia, 74, had a physical altercation, KOAT-7 reported.

According to the station, the younger Garcia told police that his father was upset when he returned from a party and was being loud. When the son attempted to leave in a vehicle, the older Garcia approached and smashed the window. The vehicle usually was driven by the father.

After smashing the window, Jorge attempted to pull Clayton out of the vehicle, and a fight ensued. Clayton admitted to police that he ended up kicking Jorge numerous times, but he was unsure how many, KOAT-7 reported.

Garcia ended up pleading guilty to second-degree murder and is expected to be sentenced on Tuesday, KOB-4 reported.
