Along with the traditional Aztec blessings, musical performances of renowned Mexican artists, and an Art Exhibition in the Cathedral Mausoleum curated by Luis Villanueva, Netflix created five authentic altars to celebrate their beloved characters from popular shows who have “passed away,” but are still always with us - literally.
The event took place at the Hollywood Forever – one of the oldest cemeteries in Los Angeles that serves as resting place for culturally significant people as well as celebrities from the entertainment industry – which for the past 18 years, has hosted a genuine and worldwide famous Day of the Dead celebration to honor these iconic figures.
All attendees lined up at Hollywood Forever to pay tribute to the smart and charming Poussey from Orange is the New Black, the ambitious journalist, Zoe Barnes from House of Cards, the controversial president, Diego Nava of Ingobernable, the original owner of the Cuervos soccer team, Salvador Iglesias from Club de Cuervos, and the lovable best friend, Barb from Stranger Things.
Fortunately, for the TV fans that have shown a true passion for the original shows, their favorite characters never really die on Netflix! You can revisit them anytime, anywhere and relive your favorite moments. Find below some photos of the altars.
