It's one of the most thrilling terms in the NBA: "buzzer beater." Its connotation carries with it a multitude of meanings: clutch, dramatic, ice water in your veins, and legendary names like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and more. Buzzer beaters are the kind of thrilling moment that makes you jump-out-of-your-seat and fist pump the sky.
The best buzzer beaters can be a simple layup, to an alley-oop jam, a last second jump shot, a fadeaway three or even a half court heave, all of them mean the same thing, your team has pulled off the most unlikely of victories, and with it a moment in time that is yours forever. This weekend during the second round of the NBA Playoffs, we were lucky enough to witness not one, but three thrilling buzzer beaters to beat the clock. On Friday, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose sent fans into a frenzy when he banked in a three-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game Three of their best-of-seven series.
Not to be outdone, Paul Pierce of the Washing Wizards hit a fadeaway bank shot of his own at the horn as the Wizards took a 2-1 series lead against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. Finally, on Sunday, "The King" himself, LeBron James, hit a deep jump shot from the corner as time expired to lift the Cavs over the Bulls and even their Eastern Conference Semifinals series at 2-2.
With each buzzer beater seemingly more spectacular than the next, we thought we would play them all for you and let you vote help us decide which of the three game-winners has been the best buzzer beater of the 2015 NBA Playoffs. Take a look at the video of each shot below, and vote in our poll to tell us who you think had the greatest clutch performance of the three.
