Whether it's first grade, junior year or college, there's always that teacher with a good reputation and the one with the bad reputation. You might clash with certain professors along the way of your educational journey, but being on their good side is not that hard.

In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Day, we've put together some useful tips on how to make your teacher happy this and every day. Trust us, even the meanest teacher will put his or her guard down.

Ways to make your teacher happy!

  • Follow Directions: If your teacher says to keep it down, keep it down. If they say to not talk in the hallway, don't talk in the hallway. It's that simple, we promise.
  • Don't be an ass!: Talking back to your teacher? Saying nasty comments? Interrupting them while they talk? Laughing at them when they make a mistake? Yea, don't be that kid.
  • Always be Prepared: Get your good night's sleep in order to wake up on time for school. Don't forget your essentials, such as pencils, paper, books and most importantly homework!
  • Study for a Test: In addition to being prepared, teachers love those students who take notes and study for a test. It demonstrates that they are doing a good job as your mentor.
  • Put Away All Gadgets: Back in the days, passing notes in class was a pet peeve for teachers. Now, it's using your cellphone or electronic devices. Pay attention and use your gadgets in between classes.
  • Turn in Assignments on Time: Unless it's an emergency, don't turn in assignments or projects past their due date. That's not cool!
  • Establish a Relationship: Don't be afraid of your professors. They're there to guide you. Who knows, you may even have things in common.
  • Participate in Class Discussion: Ask questions when you're not sure about something. Join the class discussion. It shows your interest in the topic.
  • Do your Homework: Always do your homework, but DO NOT do it while you're still in class and your teacher is in the middle of a lecture.
  • Don't Cheat on Tests / Don't Plagiarize: Enough said.

With that said, hug your teacher, say "thank you" for everything they do, and wish them a Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day!
