Yesterday we saw the video of the yellow lab that was eager to play with a toddler with Down Syndrome and after trying gently for several minutes, he got the boy, who is not fond of physical contact, to give him what looked like a hug. Even Ellen DeGeneres tweeted the video with the caption “You’re welcome, America,” as if she knew already that the video was not going to leave a dry eye to anyone who watched it. This time around, we bring you a video that will restore your faith in humanity if you feel like these days the world is just going from bad to worse.
It turns out that October is National Pizza Month. Pizza is one of the world’s most eaten foods and it’s really hard to find someone who doesn’t really like it. When we’re staying late at work, best thing to do is order a pizza, when doing a school group project, we order a pizza, anytime there’s a big event that requires the work of many people, the easiest, most delicious way to feed everyone and keep them happy is by ordering a pizza. According to ChicagoNow.com, people in the United States consume the equivalent of approximately about 23 lbs. or 46 slices of pizza every year, and pizzerias make up approximately 17 percent of all restaurants in America.
Pizza is now a U.S. $30 billion industry in the United States, but somehow, some people that contribute to the process of bringing a hot pizza to one’s home, are being well underpaid. YouTube professional prankster Stuart Edge realized the real truth behind pizza delivery guys and in honor of the National Pizza Month, he decided to do something about it. “When I found out Pizza deliverers can make as little as U.S. $4 an hour in Utah, I wanted to help out,” he said in his new viral video. In a video posted online, Edge teases the delivery men with a bunch of U.S. $1 bills, asking them how much they think they deserve.
Most of them act shy and just tell him to give them whatever he got, but the prankster persists, "if you want it bad enough, we can make any tip appear." Using sleight of hand Edge then unfurls a small stash of cash totaling U.S. $100 to the surprise of all the delivery men. One says he can’t accept it, another one doesn’t believe it, a surprised one said he felt like he owed the prankster something, and a few are thinking of ways to put the money to use. One of them has a baby, another one had been having issues with his car.
In the end, as if the reactions of the pizza delivery guys weren’t enough to start the tear fest, Stuart receives a call from the manager of one of the pizzerias saying, "I just wanted to say thank you. "What you did today for my delivery driver… I know that he really needs help with his car, so it really touched all of us here."
