Earlier this month, manga magazine Shonen Jump announced "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC. Release date details are limited at this time, but early reports suggest the Bandai Namco game will be slated for global release in 2015.
According to Weekly Shonen Jump, "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will deliver "unbelievable graphics that go beyond anime-quality with blisteringly fast gameplay." What's more, the "Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" is reportedly the "final massive strike" for the video game franchise. Sadly, the statement suggests that "Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will be the final Naruto video game. However, "final massive strike" can also mean something else: "Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will feature the "final massive strike" of the shinobi world during the Fourth Great Ninja War.
According to Anime News Network, "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will offer the larger number of fighters in the series history. As "Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" accounts "Naruto Shippuden" all the way up to "The Last: Naruto the Movie," characters will include adult Naruto, adult Sasuke, and characters from "The Last." At this point, we cannot confirm wether "The Last" antagonist Toneri Otsutsuki will be in the game as well. Finally, first Hokage Hajirama and the legendary Uchiha Madara will be in the video game as well.
“The Ultimate Ninja Storm series continues to be one of our most popular franchises and its leap to the new generation of hardware ensures that it won’t stop now,” said Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BANDAI NAMCO. This suggest that "Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" may not be the last game of the franchise after all. “CyberConnect2 has always poured their hearts into the Naruto franchise and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 promises to be the ultimate realization of the series so far.”
"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" isn't expected to be released until 2015, but fans attending Japan's Jump Festa 2015 from Dec. 20 to Dec. 21 will get to try the game out in advance. Stay tuned as we learn more in the months ahead!
