A Nashville man was arrested for the suspected murder of a woman who was shot while exercising on a local running trail after an officer recognized him as the identical twin brother of a man from another case, according to a report.
Alyssa Lokits, 34, was attacked and fatally shot on October 14 in the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, CBS News reported. Nearby witnesses claimed to have heard the victim's desperate cries for help before gunfire erupted.
A witness said the victim yelled, "Help! He's trying to rape me," according to the outlet.
The murder quickly opened an investigation, which led police to examine dash cam footage showing the suspect following Lokits and returning to his car with cuts and blood on his clothing.
The Nashville Police Department identified the suspect in the video as Paul Park, 29, after an officer recognized him to be the identical twin of another man involved in a past suicide case from 2021.
Following the discovery, investigators set up surveillance near Park's home and arrested him shortly after a warrant was issued.
Park is being held in Davidson County jail and is facing charges of criminal homicide. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
