NYPD Releases Surveillance Video Of Gang Members Suspected Of Killing Brooklyn Teen fsHH/ Pixabay

Police have arrested an alleged gang member for the murder of a 15-year-old girl more than a decade ago. Vidal Rodriguez-Alvarez, 32, stands accused in the death of Lilliana Razo in September 2018. The victim was impaled by a screwdriver thrown by the suspect into the open window of a car where Razo was a passenger.

Rodriguez-Alvarez, who was 19 years old at the time of the incident, was a member of the “Mexican Posse” street gang. His group had gotten into a confrontation outside South Division High School with 2 members of its rival gang, C-14 who were in a minivan that Razo was in.

According to court documents, the trio in the vehicle shouted insults at Rodriguez-Alvarez and another member of the Mexican Posse gang when they were coming down the stairs to the school’s parking lot. The two hurled insults back prompting the driver to step out of the vehicle but the school’s security was able to break up the confrontation.

Later in the day, both parties encountered each other again near South 13 and West Rogers streets. Rodriguez-Alvarez walked toward the vehicle and threw an object into the window of the car. The driver told investigators that his seat was partially reclined when he saw an object blur past him. He looked over at Razo in the passenger seat and saw her slumped over with a screwdriver sticking out of her left temple.

The driver took Razo to the District 2 Police headquarters and the girl was transported to Children's Wisconsin Hospital. Doctors were only able to remove the screwdriver the next day but Razo died three hours later.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner records stated: "The 9-10 inch screwdriver entered her left temple at a downward angle and lodged in the brainstem.”

According to WISN, Rodriguez-Alvarez was captured by US Marshalls in Mexico and transferred his custody over to the Milwaukee Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit on May 27. Having been first indicted on a first-degree intentional homicide charge in 2008, Rodriguez-Alvarez bond is listed at $500,000. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on June 22.
