So far, Hurricane Sandy has claimed the lives of nearly six dozen people in Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti and the Bahamas.

In New York, the Holland and Brooklyn Battery Tunnels will close at 2 p.m. All lanes of FDR drive closed due to flooding. The government has implemented a 20 MPH restriction on Verrazano, 30 mph on Whitestone and Throgs Neck.

All public schools have been closed and mass transit has been suspended until further notice. Mayor Bloomberg said New York City public schools will remain closed on Tuesday.

Sandy has forced the U.S. stock exchange to close on Monday and will more than likely keep those doors shut through Tuesday, Oct. 30. If the stock market is close tomorrow, it will be the first time since 1888 that the stock market has closed two days in a row because of weather.

Over 375,000 residents were mandated to leave low-lying areas in parts of Brooklyn, lower Manhattan, Staten Island and the Bronx.

President Obama has granted Gov. Cuomo's request for a federal emergency declaration. The declaration will enable the federal government to provide assistance and resources to New York State and local governments to support activities related to evacuation, sheltering, and other protective measures.

All Broadway shows for Sunday and Monday were cancelled and Radio City Music Hall said its box office Stage Door Tour will be closed until further notice.

If wind gusts reach over 60 MPH, NYC will close its bridges.

National Grid said forecasts now predict that Sandy could affect as many as 60 million people across the Eastern U.S.-up from 50M yesterday.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Sandy is located about 265 miles southeast of Atlantic City, New Jersey and 310 miles south southeast of New York City.

Sandy winds are now up to 90 MPH. Pressure down to a record breaking 943 mb.

It is expected to make landfall in Atlantic City at 8 p.m.

The center said Sandy is expected to bring life-threatening storm surge and coastal hurricane winds plus heavy appalachian snows.

Louis C.K., Rita Ora, John Legend, Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch have all canceled appearances scheduled for New York City and Philadelphia.

Chase and Citibank are waiving overdraft, ATM and late fees for customers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Amtrack, Metro North and LIRR have all suspended service through NYC and nearly 10,000 flights in and out of New York and Washington are cancelled.

At 2 p.m., all public transportation services in Boston will be suspended and the Connecticut Department of Transportation said all state highways will close at 1 p.m.
