
Now that the Moto X has officially been announced, the comparisons to today's top smartphones have started and we want to know how the Moto X stacks up against the competition.
We decided to compare the Moto X to the top two heavy hitters in the mobile industry. The Samsung Galaxy S4 and Apple's iPhone 5.
In this comparison we will focus on everything offered to us from resolution, camera, storage, weight and more.
Size and weight
The device is larger than Apple's iPhone 5 which sits at 4.87 x 2.31 x 0.30 inches and weighs around 3.95 ounces but the is smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung's current flagship Galaxy S smartphone, which stands at 5.38 x 2.75 x 0.31 inches and weighs 4.59 ounces.
Resolution and screen type
The Samsung tops both Apple's iPhone and the Moto X coming in at 1920x1080 resolution. Where the Moto X only has 1280x720 but that resolution beats the iPhone 5, which comes in at 1136x640. The Galaxy again wins the screen type with a Super AMOLED 441 ppi screen, the iPhone with an LCD 326 ppi and the Moto X with an Amoled, 316 ppi.
Storage
Both the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone come in three different storage types 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The iPhone, however, does not support microSD cards where the Galaxy S4 does. The Moto X only comes in 16GB and 32GB with no microSD support.
Camera
The Galaxy S4 tops again with a 13MP autofocus LED flash and zero shutter lag camera. The Moto X follows up with a 10MP, clear pixel LED flash camera and the iPhone 5 comes in last with an 8MP autofocus LED flash camera.
Pricing
All three phones compare equally in price with all smartphones starting out at $199.99 on a 2-year contract.
