The character roster for NetherRealm Studios upcoming title "Mortal Kombat X" is getting bigger and bigger. Just a day ago we learned of a returning fighter that made the roster. During a Twitch stream Ermac was revealed to be returning for MKX. If you recall Ermac is a powerful enforcer for Shao Khan who was added to the franchise in "Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3" and "Mortal Kombat: Deception."
The tenth "Mortal Kombat" installment is said to have a huge roster. Along with veteran fighters Scorpion and Sub-Zero, four new fighters were announced when the game was revealed including D'Vorah, an insect-humanoid woman who controls bugs. Ferra and Tor, a paired fighter consisting of an armor clad giant and a drawn-like woman. Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade and Kotal Kahn, an ancient Aztec God from Outworld.
Thunder God Raiden was confirmed at EVO 2014 and before it was announced, GamePro Germany revealed Kano would return for the title. Go to was confirmed as a pre-order exclusive character and Quan Chi was officially revealed during PlayStation's IgroMir event. Kung Lao has been leaked by Finnish game magazine Pelaaja which revealed him on the magazine's preview article. Recently Kitana and Reptile were confirmed in official announcement trailers. According to the games creator Ed Boon, the game's main antagonist has yet to be revealed but is said to be a "surprising returning character."
"Mortal Kombat X" is scheduled for release April 14, 2015. The game is being developed for Microsoft Windows, PS4 and Xbox One, and is expected to be ported to the PS3 and Xbox 360 by another developer.
