Jennifer Aniston has been cast in Apple TV’s new drama “The Morning Show.” The actress plays the role of Alex Levy, a morning show host.

In the teaser released by the popular streaming site, Aniston’s character announces the firing of her longtime co-host, Mitch Kessler (Steve Carrell). Mitch hears the bad news on television while he’s at home, and he couldn’t control his anger.

Following Mitch’s exit from “The Morning Show,” Alex struggles to keep up with her work as a host. She gets into arguments with the people handling the talk show.

Alex also gets a much-needed wake-up call when she meets Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), a woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind at all times. Bradley tells morning show producer Chip Black (Mark Duplass) that his show sucks.

Bradley interviews Alex in the teaser. During their conversation, the former tells the latter that viewers need someone whom they can trust on television. Alex is already doubting her credibility, and Bradley’s statement shakes her up momentarily.

The two female characters’ conversation leads Alex to schedule a meeting with the team behind her show. She declares that from here on out, she will be the one controlling the shots.

“The part you guys never seem to realize is that you don’t have the power anymore,” Alex tells the team. “And frankly, I’ve let you bozos handle this long enough. We are doing this my way,” she adds.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Alex is convinced that Bradley wants to take over her position on the morning show. However, Bradley vehemently denies that she plans on ousting Alex. But by the looks of it, this may still be a possibility.

“The Morning Show” is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV in the fall. The show also stars Billy Crudup as Cory Ellison, Nestor Carbonell as Yanko Flores, Karen Pittman as Mia Jordan and more.

The show is inspired by Brian Stelter’s book about the ongoing morning news wars in America. “The Morning Show” also explores the struggles of both men and women who have the responsibility of helping their country wake up every morning with the freshest news and updates.
