Venezuelan officials have laid charges for intentional homicide against three men for their presumed role in the robbery and murder of former beauty queen Mónica Spear and her ex-husband Thomas Henry Berry, bringing the total of the accused to 10. Before a tribunal in Puerto Cabello, 210 kilometres north of Caracas, Prosecutors Narda Sanabria and Wilmer Romero also laid charges of aggravated assault, obstruction of public roads and conspiracy against the three young men.
Venezulan authorities have accused José Gregorio Ferreira Herrera (18), Franklin Daniel Cordero Álvarez (28) and Nelfrend Antonio Jiménez Álvarez (21) of charges including homicide and robbery for the murder of 29-year-old actress Monica Spear. The body of the former beauty queen was found alongside that of her ex-husband, Henry Berry on January 6th inside the vehicle they were driving from Puerto Cabello to Valencia. Among the accused are a minor and a woman.
On Monday, February 24, five people appeared before the tribunal accused of crimes relating to Mónica Spear's death: Jean Colina Alcalá (19), Alejandro Maldonado Pérez (21), Adolfo Rico Agreda (26), Leonar Marcano Lugo (32), Eva Armas Mejías (39) were all accused of various crimes from attempted robbery to homicide. Previously, two teenagers of 17 and 15 were also accused of aggravated assault in connection to the actress' death.
