The mother of a man who was arrested for shooting a fast-food employee over a spat concerning cold fries provided details on what led to the issue.
Lisa Fulmore, the mother of the 20-year-old man who allegedly shot a 23-year-old McDonald’s employee now left clinging for life explained how his son was pushed into the situation after initially ordering fries via a mobile app.
She went to the Bedford-Stuyvesant branch at around 7:00 p.m. to pick up her order that included fries. Fulmore complained that the fries were cold to a girl at the counter, the Post reported.
“I asked the girl to change the french fries because the fries was cold. She went to the french fry machine for maybe 10 seconds and brought back fries, so I thought they was new fries, so I had left,” the 40-year-old mom of three said.
At that point, Fulmore thought that the fries were ok. Unfortunately, they were still cold so she went back to complain again. But instead of addressing the complaint, she claims that the girl started laughing.
“One of them was like, ‘All of this over fries?’ So now I’m arguing with them back and forth. The boy where they cook the food at was like, ‘You got all this food in your teeth,’ ” Fullermore said, referring to the worker who was shot.
At this point, Fullermore called his son to inform him of the issue. The son said he was going to the restaurant but his mother was a bit apprehensive since she did not want her son to get into trouble.
When the son arrived, an argument ensued. But things got a bit out of control with the fast-food employee ended up looking for Fulmore’s son.
Gunshots were heard and Fullmore was asking who fired them. She was told that it was her son. However, the debate right now is about who owned the gun.
According to police, the victim had no prior arrests and there is no indication he was carrying a weapon when he was gunned down.
On the other hand, Fulmore’s son was arrested on multiple occasions in the past. He is now in police custody but is not being charged with anything.
