A missing Russian plane was found one year after it went missing in Russian marsh lands on Saturday. A pair of hunters were out in the woods when they came upon the wreckage of the missing Russian plane and the body parts of 11 people traveling on board the aircraft.
According to Reuters the missing Russian plane took off without permission in June of 2012. Authorities believe the pilot and a group of friends, 13 in all, took the plane after a night of drinking. Search parties were launched but no trace of the missing plane was found until now.
The BBC says that the search for the missing An-2 light biplane was called off in November 2012, after 4-months of searching due to the winter weather.
The Russian authorities believe the group took the plane for an unauthorized flight in order to go on a fishing expedition. There is no word on what caused the missing Russian plane to crash shortly after takeoff, but alcohol is said to have played a part in the decision to take the plane.
