A 15-year-old girl who went to the restroom during halftime of an NBA game and then went missing was found days later at a hotel in Oklahoma City, reportedly being sold for sex.

The girl went with her father to the American Airlines Center to watch the Dallas Mavericks game. However, the 15-year-old never returned to her seat and her father, KVUE reported.

Obtained surveillance footage showed the girl leaving the arena with a man on that night.

The father informed the police at the arena about it but was told to report the matter to the North Richland Hills police. However, he was told to report it in Dallas since that was where the incident happened.

The report was received around 1:27 a.m., about six hours after the Mavs game started. The girl’s name was entered in the missing person database at around 3:24 a.m. on Apr. 9.

“She was gone missing a total of 11 days,” attorney Zeke Fortenberry said. “Our intent is to put [these organizations] on notice that we’re pursuing claims against them for their negligence and other causes of action,” he added.

Ten days later, the teenage girl was found in Oklahoma City after her parents identified her through nude photos that had been posted online in sex advertisements.

“This girl was being sexually assaulted in a hotel room multiple nights," Fortenberry said. "Any time she could have been rescued from that sooner would have been better.”

At least eight people were arrested in connection with the incident. Fortenberry said that the man obtained a fake ticket that was sold to him by someone notorious for selling fake tickets.

Fortenberry said he sent letters to the American Airlines Center, the Dallas Mavericks, the Dallas Police Department, and the Oklahoma City hotel. He has yet to receive a response from any of the parties to whom he sent the letter.
