Former Miss Delaware Teen USA, Melissa King, has been given a year of probation after being charged with underage alcohol possession in Maryland.

The 19-year-old former Miss Delaware appeared Monday in Worcester County District Court in Ocean City on citations for underage alcohol possession and a separate theft charge.

The ruling of a year probation comes after King was cited in August on the alcohol charge after police found a bottle of rum in her father's truck, which she was driving. King was stopped by police for a cracked taillight.

The charge of theft was dropped by prosecutors citing doubts about the case; however King was also cited in June for allegedly stealing money from a city bus fare box.

This is not the first time King has been in hot water, King resigned her Miss Delaware Teen crown in February after a pornographic video surfaced. She was reportedly paid $1,500 to appear in the video.

King initially denied reports that she appeared in a the adult video, however a video surfaced of a fully-clothed woman who identifies herself as Melissa King and states she is not under the influence of drugs or mind-altering substances.

As King entered the courthouse, she smiled and greeted reports on scene. The teen was accompanied by attorney Greg Hannigan, saying she was doing "great."

King plans on attending college somewhere west of the Mississippi River and wishes to pursue a career in journalism.
