Miley Cyrus is, currently, on her path to recovery after undergoing minor throat surgery for tonsillitis. While this story is true, certain reports that recently surfaced about the singer were bogus. Here are some of them:

Her 'deadly' divorce diet

A month after her split announcement with Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus was rumored to be on a deadly divorce diet. According to the tabloid that published the report, Cyrus had dropped to 88 pounds after her split from the hunk actor because she would only eat a piece of fruit and a handful of nuts a day.

The tabloid also claimed that, due to excessive weight loss, Cyrus had decided to self-medicate with drugs and alcohol. The report even came with Cyrus’ before-and-after photos, which were clearly photoshopped. To debunk the claim, Gossip Cop released a report saying that Cyrus had been doing absolutely great since their split.

Wasting away

Shortly after her split from Hemsworth, Cyrus briefly hooked up with her longtime friend Kaitlynn Carter. When their relationship ended, the same tabloid falsely claimed that the “mixed-up wild child” had dropped another 20 pounds as she started to live on a “diet of dope and booze.”

The tabloid also claimed that Cyrus could barely eat after her split from Carter and that the only calories she’s taking in were from cocktails and coffee. Following the report, Gossip Cop reached out to a source close to Cyrus and the source said Cyrus had in fact never been healthier.

Possessed by the devil

In September, another tabloid took advantage of Cyrus’ wild antics by claiming that the singer was possessed by the devil. The tabloid claimed that her family was already starting to worry about her, especially after watching her wild and raunchy performances over the summer.

Because of her wild ways, Cyrus’ family was reportedly starting to believe that the singer was being influenced by her fascination with witchcraft and devil worship. However, Gossip Cop once again debunked the claim and pointed out that Cyrus had always behaved that way—long before her split from Hemsworth or Carter. A source close to Cyrus also said the story was ridiculous.

Social media addict

Just last October, a tabloid claimed that Cyrus’ family and friends wanted her to go to rehab as she was already going off the rails. According to the tabloid, Cyrus was on the verge of damaging her own career because of her social media addiction so they wanted to stop her before it’s too late.

After checking with Cyrus’ friend, however, Gossip Cop found that the report was not true. The source dismissed the report and denied that they were urging the singer to seek treatment for social media addiction. Gossip Cop also clarified that while some rehab facilities offer treatment for social media addiction in broader programs, there aren’t any clinics that exclusively deal with this kind of condition.
