Miguel Bosé will soon beginning filming his first-ever MTV Unplugged, but first he needs to gather his special guests! After revealing the exciting news earlier this month, a new wave of artists will join Bosé in his TV special.
Spanish crooner Pablo Alborán, Mexican indie artist Ximena Sariñana and Maná band members Alex Gonzalez (drums) and Sergio Vallin (guitar) are all confirmed to join their friend in his first acoustic show titled "Bosé Unplugged."
The 60-year-old international artist also invited former Timbiriche singer, Benny Ibarra, Mexican indie songstress Natalia Lafourcade and Colombian pop star Fonseca to jump on board his highly-anticipated project. Mexican singer Marco Antonio Solís, who recently nabbed the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards, is also confirmed for the TV special.
For the "Amante Bandido" singer, this is the only thing that was missing in his trajectory of nearly 45 years. "Only one thing was missing from my career, and I'm not sure why it never happened: an acoustic," expressed Bosé in a press statement. "Finally I'll be able to do it and it will be on MTV Unplugged. I am very excited!" he added of the televised event that will be musically directed by Argentine composer and musician Nicolás Sorín.
"Just like MTV, Miguel Bosé's career is defined by innovation and reinvention," said Tiago Worcman, brand manager of MTV Latin America and Brazil. "We are sure that this MTV Unplugged will be filled with unique moment that will keep inspiring fans for years to come," he added. Marc Zimet, vice president of music and talent of MTV Latin America, also spoke highly of the "Si Tu No Vuelves" singer. "He's a complete artist and possesses a talent that is rarely seen in a generation," he said, adding that Bosé's remarkable career includes sold-out tours and millions of albums sold worldwide.
"Bosé: MTV Unplugged" will begin filming on May 12 in Mexico City, Mexico. The TV special, which will showcase more collaborations, is expected to premiere September 2016.
