Microsoft has landed a partnership with one of the biggest sports in the U.S., the NFL.
At yesterday's Xbox One reveal event Microsoft unveiled its much anticipated next gaming console and with that reveal Microsoft also announced news of a partnership with NFL which will bring the Xbox One exclusive content from the sports giant.
Among these exclusives features will be live streaming of games and the ability to check out team and player while during game play. That info will also be readily available with any game broadcasts a gamer is watching there will also be a feature to Skype with friends during gameplay or a live stream to brag or just talk. Players will able to views stats of their fantasy football team in tandem with the game they are playing.
"When we started working with Roger Goodell and the team at the NFL we knew that we could create great new experiences that fans would love," said Don Mattrick, President IEB Division at Microsoft. "This partnership will redefine NFL experiences through exclusive and interactive content that you will find only on Xbox. For fans, the NFL on Xbox will provide the most complete way to enjoy live football by bringing the first fully-integrated fantasy football experience to the TV, exclusively through Xbox One."
SmartGlass will play a role in the NFL experience but neither company gave much detail on what role it will play in the gaming experience.
The partnerships extends to the real arena as well - Microsoft will bring Surface tablets to coches and players to improve their communication and play calling.
Expect to hear more since this is only the beginning and the console isn't even out yet.
