A confrontation over a stolen vape pen reportedly resulted in the shooting and death of a 22-year-old man in Michigan, according to a report.

The incident unfolded March 26 in an apartment complex in Ypsilanti, Michigan, MLive reported. There, an escalating argument between Alonzo Hollie and Daniel Franklin over a Breeze e-cigarette allegedly led to threats of violence and ultimately, gunfire.

Witness Deonte Mcdaniel testified on Oct. 28 during the preliminary examination that Hollie threatened Franklin, allegedly saying, "Give me my Breeze or I'm going to shoot you."

Mcdaniel claimed that moments later, after a brief period of silence, shots were heard from inside the vehicle, and Hollie was dead.

Franklin had been previously linked to another homicide in 2022, where he is still facing charges of open murder and weapons crimes. That court date was rescheduled for Nov. 18.

Following the most recent shooting, Franklin faces multiple charges including open murder, carrying a concealed weapon and using a firearm during a felony. He is scheduled to appear in court for this case on Jan. 8.
