Investigators remain in utter confusion over the mysterious disappearance of a family from Michigan during the weekend. They haven't been heard from at all after the incident, said reports.

Fremont Police Department Chief Tim Rodwell told the media, “We’re just very concerned.”
“The circumstances are strange,” he added.

According to authorities, 51-year-old Anthony and Suzette Cirigliano along with their two sons, Brandon, 19, and Noah, 15, disappeared on Sunday, Oct. 16. They are believed to be in a silver 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan.

Anthony’s phone is turned off and there has been no activity on the couple’s credit cards or bank accounts. Suzette’s and the boys’ phones were found in their home, officials said. A series of search warrants turned up no clues, Rodwell said.

Anthony works in finance, and Suzette had been caring for her elderly mother, who suffers from dementia.

On Monday, Suzette's mother was found wandering the streets of their Fremont neighborhood, which is about 45 miles north of Grand Rapids.

The two sons have autism, state police said.

The police discovered that the Cirigliano family was missing from their homes and seemed to have left in a hurry without making arrangements for the care of Suzette’s mother. The elderly mother is now with another relative.

There were signs of trouble the night before when Anthony called 911 in distress just after midnight.
Rodwell said, “Anthony was complaining of some elaborate issue in regard to the Sept 11 attack.”
“He was displaying to my officer's paranoia and some concerns in regard to the FBI and CIA,” he added.

After speaking with Anthony and Suzette, the police determined that no one was in imminent danger, Rodwell added.

“We don’t see any signs of violence, we don’t see any signs of foul play right now. There are no signs of a struggle inside the home,” Rodwell told the media.

Rodwell said, “They seem like really good people who were taking care of their family.”
“No one has had any problems with them,” he added.

Police are asking anyone with information about the family to contact the department.
