The “Fast and Furious” franchise has encountered an unexpected backslash since the release of “Furious 7” in 2015. Producers, however, want to change that narrative with the film franchise's ninth installment.

How do they plan to do that? What better way to pique the fans' interest by bringing in as many A-list stars to the film. Helmed by Justin Lee, and written by Chris Morgan and Daniel Casey, these people manning the helm promise to bring back the major cast along with new characters.

Over the past few years, “The Fast and the Furious” franchise has faced a drop in popularity following the death of Han and the late Paul Walker. The ninth installment of the series is likely to give justice to Han’s death, as the director was reportedly spotted wearing a T-shirt, captioned #JusticeforHan during the production.

There is also a rumor of Lucas Black, who played an insignificant role “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" in 2006 might reprise his role as Sean Boswell in the film.

Some of the confirmed “Fast and Furious 9” cast members are Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce and “Game of Thrones” actress Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey.

Even Jordana Brewster who last appeared in the ”Fast and Furious 7” is set to make a comeback with Rapper Ludacris, who plays Tej Parker in the sixth and seventh installment of the franchise. Moreover, Helen Mirren who plays Magdalene Shaw and Charlize Theron as cyber hacker Cipher will be seen reprising their characters from the previous film, reported Pop Culture.

FF9 will also see the debut of Michael Rooker, John Cena, Finn Cole, Ozuna, and Cardi B, whose roles in the upcoming film are not clear. The film has already wrapped up the production and is slated to hit the screens in May 2020.
