Michael Jackson passed away five years ago and today we remember the King of Pop with some of the best Latino covers ever. On June 25, 2009, just a few days before the artist broke twelve years of isolation with an incredible tour, California authorities announced his death. He was 50 years old and beloved by many. The celebrations of his life and mourning of his death lasted weeks: in the Hispanic community we also remember Michael Jackson as a source of inspiration.

Five years after his death, Michael Jackson, the King of Pop left a legacy that no figure has achieved since. "I think there are extraordinarily talented people, Justin Timberlake or all of these figures who are now in vogue, but I think some people are unique and unrepeatable, Michael is one of them," aid Martha Debayle, a journalist who had the opportunity to interact with Jackson in his only visit to Mexico in 1993. "No one can take his throne, just like no one has taken the throne of Jimi Hendrix or Elvis Presley."

While Justin Timberlake had a major year in 2013 and has had a steady career in the pop section; Bruno Mars shone on stage at the Super Bowl and had a considerable volume of sales, and Lady Gaga in 2010 achieved a meteoric year in terms of popularity, none of these figures managed to even come close to the Jackson phenomenon. His music is universal and moves beyond language. To prove it, here are eight Latino versions of Michael's greatest hits.

José Feliciano – “I Wanna be Where You Are” (1982)

Caetano Veloso – “Billie Jean” (1986)

Ely Guerra "Billie Jean"

Luis Miguel – “Sera Que No Me Amas” (1990)

Quantic Y Su Conjunto Los Miticos Del Ritmo – “No Pares Hasta Tener lo Suficiente” (2012)

“Somos El Mundo 25 Por Haiti” (2010)

Toby Love – “Todo Mi Amor Eres Tu” (2013)

Tito Nieves – “I Want You Back” (2013)
