Henry Cavill might not be “Superman” anymore as it was reported two months ago that the actor is set to be replaced for his iconic superhero role. It was said that the DC Comics superhero movie will be rebooted and moving in a new direction.

In September, Deadline reported that Warner Bros. has been thinking about taking a “completely different direction with its Superman canon for some time.” The report added that they have also been considering Michael B. Jordan to be the new “Superman.” Does this mean that the fans will be seeing the very first black Superman in the upcoming films?

Jordan’s last movie project was “Black Panther.” He was cast as the villain Erik Killmonger and everyone saw that he is fit to be a superhero.

But while the talks of Cavill being replaced by Jordan continues, it was said that the actor is not yet ready to leave his Superman role. In his recent interview with Men's Health, the actor shared that he would like to return to DC even if the studio is moving away from its flagship characters when “Justice League” failed miserably.

“I’m not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on,” Cavill told the magazine. “I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet and a lot of storytelling to do.”

But then again, it was said that Warner Bros. has already met up with Jordan to discuss about the movie. According to Variety, the meeting took place earlier this year but the “Creed” actor relayed that he is not yet ready to take on the project because it seems that the movie will not be filmed soon but may take several years before it would go into production.

At any rate, while Henry Cavill said that he still wants to be “Superman,” it appears that Warner Bros. has other plans so fans will not be seeing him again as Clark Kent if the studio will make a new movie. Meanwhile, it should be noted that while there are talks about casting the lead actor, it is not yet certain if the studio will reboot the movie soon because it is currently focusing on “SuperGirl.”
