Alarms have gone off in the music world after Luis Miguel canceled his upcoming concerts in Mexico City. What initially appeared to be a simple rescheduling turned into a series of cancellations for the "Sun of Mexico," who may be facing serious health issues, at least according to a local reported.

During a live YouTube broadcast, Mexican entertainment journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante said that Luis Miguel's ailment began last weekend after his concerts at Arena Ciudad de México. Following an impeccable show, the 54-year-old singer reportedly started showing symptoms of COVID-19.

Subsequent tests confirmed he had the virus, prompting him and his team to take further precautions. Infante shared that the artist's team didn't officially cancel the performance until just an hour before showtime, promising a reschedule for the following Monday.

Infante also revealed that it wasn't just Luis Miguel who was tested for COVID, but also his band, mariachis, and supporting team on the tour.

"They held off until an hour before the concert on Tuesday, then decided to cancel and reschedule for the following Monday," Gustavo said.

Despite taking extra care, Luis Miguel's health did not improve, leading to further concert cancellations.

Given the gravity of his condition, Infante explained that given the specific treatment the singer is undergoing, it's likely more than a common cold; he's now apparently dealing with pneumonia caused by COVID-19.

"They gave him an injection on Tuesday to try to clear his throat, but it didn't work... the issue is that Luis Miguel has pneumonia," Infante said.

The TV host detailed that this is the fourth time the singer has had pneumonia and mentioned sources close to Luis Miguel saying that "he's never felt this sick before," and that he has been confined to bed with intravenous antibiotics.

As a result, he has had to cancel upcoming concerts, including shows at Arena Ciudad de México on October 28, Querétaro on October 29, and Irapuato on October 31. While rescheduled dates haven't been announced, previously purchased tickets will remain valid.
